Of course, we’re biased, but we can think of limitless reasons why you should be visiting North Devon. If you’re planning a trip this spring and need some inspiration, here are five reasons why you should choose North Devon as your springtime destination.
In the summer months, the North Devon landscape becomes a host of colours. You can find incredible spring flowers popping up all over the region, whether you visit the Exmoor National Park, climb the rocks around Hartland or visit somewhere like Hartland Abbey for their Daffodil Day, there are loads of opportunities to experience spring with the North Devon landscape.
With warmer weather coming, now is a great time to get out and enjoy the beautiful views that can be seen via the Tarka Trail and places like Braunton Burrows. As this region is famous for the coastline, make sure to spend some time following the South West Coast Path.
Spring means Easter which means lots of fun family activities and events all over North Devon. Why not visit places like the Big Sheep, the Milky Way or Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park among others to get your fill of Easter themed entertainment?
Did you know that North Devon is the UK’s first surf reserve? Well, now you know why it is such a haven for those that love watersports! Many of the best waves can be found in the autumn and winter when the weather is a bit rougher and of course, you can spot suffers all over the region during the summer months. Visiting in spring means that the beaches are often a little quieter, so if you’re a novice or a less confident surfer, now is the time to get out on the waves.
There is always something going on in North Devon but in the spring you can enjoy a host of additional events to coincide with the school holidays and Easter. To plan your trip around the events taking place across North Devon, check out our events calendar here.
