Christmas is fast-approaching – and thankfully there are PLENTY of North Devon Christmas markets for you to enjoy.
Whether you want to get your gift-buying sorted there and then, fancy trying some local delicacies or want to listen to some of the area’s most talented musicians, there’s an event for everyone this winter.
Here are the best North Devon Christmas markets for 2017:
Free range turkeys, organic meats, cheeses, cakes, fudge, chocolate, bread, fish and Christmas trees are just some of the delights which will be on offer at the South West’s biggest indoor Farmers’ Markets – every Saturday in December up to Christmas Day, 9am-1pm, free entry.
North Devon Christmas Market returns to Braunton’s Caen Street car park on Saturday, December 2nd (3pm-10.30pm) with more than 130 stalls – perfect for a spot of Christmas shopping!
There will be a range of world foods from local traders, craft ales and music to keep you entertained, while revellers will also be able to bring the kids as there will be plenty to keep them entertained.
There’s a Christmas Craft and Design Fair from 24th to 26th November and a Christmas Food Fair on 3rd December.
Following last year’s successful day event, the Ilfracombe Christmas Market will this year be held on both the Saturday and Sunday. There will be a whole host of artisan stalls, gift ideas and yummy food, while Santa will also make an appearance both days.
Saturday will also see some of Ilfracombe’s finest acoustic musicians take the stage as they entertain you whilst you wander around the market.
South Molton’s famous Fatstock market returns just in time for Christmas. On Sunday, December 3rd, the town’s Pannier Market will host more 50 Christmas stalls with gift ideas, produce and products to really get your Christmas shopping off to a great start.
Taking place as part of the town’s Winter Wonderland weekend, which kicks off with the lights switch on on the Friday, all the shops in the town will be open offering their fine range of quality goods.
Bideford promises a fantastic day full of Christmas cheer at their Christmas lights switch on event on Sunday, December 3rd (midday-7pm). Santa and his reindeer will be there, while a winter market will offer titbits and gift ideas for all. There will also be a Santa Fun Run for the Children’s Hospice South West, street entertainment, live music, Christmas carols, children’s fairground rides and much more!
The event will be held on Bideford Quay. The light switch on is at 5pm. A reindeer parade will be shortly after the lights are switched on.
There will be more than 80 stalls in South Molton Pannier Market on Sunday, December 10th (10am-3pm) at the town’s festive flea market. Antiques, vintage and retro items, handmade and homemade items, wonderful gift ideas, local food and produce and a hog roast will all be there, plus mulled wine, mince pies and mistletoe!
The market will be home to Buzzlewick in his amazing Elf Emporium and Polar Post Office, plus vintage fair rides, horse and carriage rides, with a performance by South Molton Town Band.
Back for its third year on December 3rd, Connect and Create takes place in Barnstaple Pannier Market, showcasing North Devon artists, crafters, musicians, charities and businesses.
