We know we’ve kept you on the edge of your seats lately, but we’ve got good news: English Tourism Week is on the horizon and the day has finally come to confirm our exciting news.
North Devon is officially now ‘England’s Adventure Coast’!
England’s Adventure Coast, which spans the Cornish border to Exmoor, will be encouraging people of all ages and interests to get involved in new adventures. After all, North Devon has plenty: outdoor activities along the South West Coast Path, mountain biking, climbing, cycling trails and walking tours through woodlands, wild streams and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There’s wild camping on Exmoor, the Dark Skies reserve perfect for viewing the night sky, and an expanding golf industry across the county. There’s the North Devon biosphere, home to wildlife and unique exhibits of nature, and Lundy Island marine reserve. The adventures don’t just take place on land - enjoy new experiences along the water like chartered boat trips, sea safaris, kayaking and a community renowned for its surf!
You can even taste the adventure, with a wealth of locally sourced produce supplying an endless number of restaurants, cafes and pubs along the North Devon Food Trail, or discover a rich heritage spanning across a multitude of unique villages and towns, all with their own unique things to offer.
Local video-makers, Panoptic Motion, have put together a fantastic video which encapsulates some of the different experiences to be had and places to explore. Watch it here:
