Keeping the whole family happy when you’re on holiday can be tough. Luckily North Devon has so many activities to keep everyone entertained! Keep reading to see our North Devon activity guide for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, teens and more.
North Devon has a wide range of activities for babies. One firm favourite is Little Stars at The Milky Way Adventure Park. It offers imaginative and adventurous play for babies and toddlers and also offers sensory classes.
If you’re looking to explore the North Devon countryside with your baby, we’d suggest checking out our 11 Perfect North Devon Walks For Parents With Prams blog post. We not only outline walks that are baby-friendly, we also include the length of each walk so you can choose which is most suitable for you.
Funder Zone in Barnstaple is a haven for toddlers. Think slides, crawl tubes and ball pits – there’s also a dedicated area for under 3s to enjoy and play safely.
If the weather is good, heading to Victoria Park in Bideford is a must. Their outdoor paddling pool, pictured above, is great for toddlers and it’s free too!
If you’re looking to amuse the whole family, alongside your toddler, we’d suggest Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park. The park has an impressive collection of animals, including wolves and lemurs, plus a full sized T-Rex! What toddler isn’t fascinated by dinosaurs?
RHS Rosemoor in Torrington is the perfect place to not only amuse your preschoolers, but also educate them at the same time.
Equally as educational would be a trip to Exmoor Zoo. It’s neither a wildlife park or city zoo but a more friendly, unique zoo which has grown into the North Devon countryside. It’s a fantastic place to head with your preschooler – they’ll especially enjoy the animal handling sessions!
One thing that can be an issue when visiting the beach with your children is keeping them entertained and in sight at all times. The perfect solution to this is Westward Ho!’s tidal pool. The pool is great for swimming and discovering sea life, plus it’s surrounded by rock pools which are always perfect for keeping children amused.
A great day out for all the family, especially for your children, is a trip to The Big Sheep. It’s North Devon’s top award winning attraction where fun never stops. It has everything from rollercoasters to play areas to meeting the baby lambs and sheep.
The fun doesn’t stop when it comes to amusing teenagers in North Devon. If it’s a fine day, head up to the North Devon Wakepark. Choose from their huge range of activities including the Aquapark, Wakeboarding, Ringo Rides and more. A tip is to also partake in one of their packages; you can take advantage of three or four of the activities from just £30 per person.
If the heavens decide to open, take shelter at Air Extreme and let your teenagers experience eight of their adrenaline-filled activities. The trampoline park is award winning and is great for tiring out your teens.
Where do we even start – there are so many things for adults to do in North Devon! From checking out North Devon’s most romantic locations to dining in Michelin Star restaurants, the list is endless. We’re sure you’ll also agree that one of the best things to do as a parent is to watch your kids enjoy themselves and have fun!
