With some of the most romantic places in England right here on our doorstep, it’s really no surprise that so many people elect to get married here in North Devon.
We have everything from rural retreats to beautiful beach backdrops, so whether you’re newly engaged, know somebody who is, or just enjoy looking at pretty wedding venues for that big day in the future, keep reading to discover some of our best - and most unique - venues.
With so many incredible beaches here in North Devon, a coastal wedding can be easily achieved without having to fly across the globe.
One revered example is Tunnels Beaches in Ilfracombe. Looking out over the beach and its dramatic rock pools, your ceremony is accessible through a hand carved tunnel within the rugged cliffs. This venue offers the choice between a contemporary stylish building or a fully functioning thatched gazebo, ensuring weather will never be an issue - on top of stunning views and a private beach.
Tie the knot overlooking the spectacular Combesgate beach when you choose to host your wedding at the Watersmeet Hotel. The venue has some breathtaking views, making the most incredible backdrop to your wedding photos - we bet everyone will be jealous when they see them!
Weddings at Saunton Sands Hotel have long been revered, and it’s easy to see why - with beautiful indoor and outdoor locations to exchange your vows, alongside three miles of stunning golden beach, perfect for your first post-ceremony wander later on.
Have you ever wanted your wedding photos - or your first married dance - on the dodgems? If so, then Old Barn is the destination for you. Attached to the Milky Way Adventure Park, the Old Barn offers both a lovely barn with a rural 17th century look, and a modern reception with immediate access to rollercoasters and dodgems for the ultimate party.
If memorable is what you’re looking for, or if you fancy a taste of something different on your special day, you can’t get much better than this.

Whitemoor Farm can offer the ultimate rural wedding experience, with a spacious barn that can be decorated to fit any theme that you fancy. You can be within seconds of nature whilst still enjoying a beautiful, modern venue kitted out in all of the luxuries you need. With a nice river and local wildlife, this venue is the ideal setting for something picturesque.
Manor house grandeur meets rural life at Beaconside House, an idyllic location based between Bideford and Torrington, wherein you can exchange your vows looking over acres upon acres of unspoilt countryside.
Have you always dreamed of a storybook wedding? Northcote Manor is as close as they come. Exchange your vows in somewhere special, like the outdoor summerhouse of the Sanctuary, by the bay window in the Oak Room, or against the daylight-filled Conservatory. Step outside for sweeping views over the River Taw and its surrounding valleys, making the perfect dramatic backdrop to any wedding photograph.
Ash Barton is an exceptional manor house that can offer everything and more for the perfect wedding weekend. Sleeping 35+ people in the house, there’s room for all the family with living facilities including snooker, a games room and even a small basketball court. Party all night with no curfew, or slip away to the secret garden to take gorgeous, romantic pictures after a rustic ceremony in the outdoor chapel.
Combining coastal views with a rustic feel complete with Clovelly’s best loved residents, its donkeys, Clovelly Village will make a memorable start to your married life. One of North Devon’s most picturesque locations, there are plenty of places to say ‘I do’ and even more places to celebrate.
With so many romantic destinations to choose from, North Devon really is spoilt for choice when it comes to popping the question - and these venues are guaranteed to leave you feeling like you’re on your honeymoon before you’re even married.
So if you’re planning on selecting one for your upcoming wedding - or if your own big day has already taken place here - let us know on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, or if we’ve missed somewhere exceptional, give them a shout out!
