Things To Do in North Devon | August Bank Holiday
A three day weekend has to be a cause for celebration, and North Devon has an array of events to get anyone excited to celebrate. Discover all the best things to do in North Devon during the August Bank Holiday.
Friday 24th August
Want to enjoy some live music, street food, fancy dress and most importantly beer? Head down to the Ilfracombe Beer Festival running from Thursday through to Sunday! It’s a real crowd pleaser.
Saturday 25th August
Make your way to the Big Sheep on Saturday for a day of MINI Madness with the Grand Tour Mini Run! Adorned with decoration and embracing the Grand Tour, the MINIs will be a sight to behold. John’s Deli is hosting an event for the adults to enjoy as Siblings Gin join them for a FREE taster day. A brief guide through the history of the brand and of course, some free samples for you to try.
Sunday 26th August
Sunday 26th sees Marshall from Paw Patrol making an appearance at The Big Sheep, the perfect event for the little ones. Meet and greet the character and even have a photo taken with him. An explosion of colour, Ilfracombe Carnival takes place from 6pm on Sunday evening for an eclectic mix of floats and parades that’ll keep you entertained all night long!
Bank Holiday Monday
The MINIs take to the streets again as the annual Grand Tour continues to its finishing point in Ilfracombe. Watch as the MINIs pass through the town and gather as the procession finishes. Alternatively, head down to Merry Harriers Garden Centre for their Vintage and Classic Car Show. Enjoy classic cars and bikes, raffles and refreshments all in aid of the North Devon Hospice.
All Weekend Activity Suggestions
That’s not all that’s happening in North Devon over the Bank Holiday Weekend, there are tonnes of other activities you and the family can get involved in come rain or shine. Head to the Milky Way Adventure Park for some adrenaline action, now voted the 4th Best Amusement Park in the UK.
Explore the horticultural world of RHS Garden Rosemoor for their Jurassic Discovery Garden Trail, let the kids blow off some steam whilst you explore the ground and enjoy a cream tea or two in the cafe.
Head to the White Moose Art Gallery for the latest exhibition ‘Coast’. A display of art inspired by the coastline of North Devon, an inspiring collection of ceramics and paintings.
