North Devon is beautiful all year around but at this of year, you’ll be able to enjoy the region in a whole new light with the leaves turning golden and those spectacular autumn sunsets.
If you want to discover North Devon’s autumn colours, here are some of the best areas to visit.
RHS Rosemoor is open all year around and has an active calendar of events taking place throughout the year, so if you’re travelling with the family, take a look at what is on over October half term. The gardens are themed and beautifully landscaped to make the most of the plants that thrive at this time of year and you can really appreciate the crunchy leaves and autumn colours as you explore.
Managed by the National Trust, there are over 20 miles of footpaths and walks to explore here, so you can pick a walk that really suits you. In the autumn, the Deer Park walk gives you a chance to spot the red deer that call the grounds home and the Lake Walk is a great place to wonder through the trees as they turn red and gold.
If you’re after a bracing autumn walk, the Heddon Valley is a great place to visit. You’ll get to follow the river along to the sea through the cliffs and explore the old lime kiln before making your way back.
