A Child’s Guide to North Devon
We all know that North Devon is a top choice for family holidays in the UK, largely thanks to the abundance of things to do with the kids. With its perfect hiding places, delicious sweet treats and playgrounds galore, little ones have plenty to keep them busy.
Don’t just take our word for it though - find out what Georgia, who lives with her family in North Devon, loves to get up to in the local area.
Where do you live?
I live in little village called Clovelly.
What’s your favourite thing about it?
There are lots of beaches and I get to play in the sand with my family. I jump in the sea and it’s really fun, and I get to jump over the waves with my dad.
How would you describe Clovelly?
I can see the harbour and there are lots of flowers. I always like to see the sea and look for boats. Sometimes I play I spy.

Where is your favourite place to go?
Down to the harbour because I get to swim with my friend Lauren and play in the sand. Having ice cream is my favourite part!
What’s your fave thing to take to the beach with you?
Bucket and spade - I love building sand castles.
Where is your favourite place to eat?
My favourite is a picnic on the beach and we always eat it as soon as we get there. It’s the rule!!
Where is your favourite beach?
It is probably Westward Ho! because I love to play in the rock pools. There’s the arcade there too. It’s awesome!
Have you been to Exmoor?
No, but I have seen pictures and it looks beautiful! I’d love to see the Exmoor ponies too.

Where is your mum and dad’s favourite place to visit?
Croyde beach because they always say that it is their favourite.
Where do you go on holiday?
We go to Hendra and other places in Cornwall like St Ives.
What sports or activities do you like to try?
I like PE at school and I really want to go body boarding with daddy.
What does you favourite day include?
First, I would go to The Milky Way because it’s really fun and has a big roller coaster. Then I would go to Atlantis because there’s a big pirate ship! After this I would go back home and rest. Then I would go to Victoria Park because there’s a really big play area. That’s enough play for one day.

Where does the best ice cream?
HOCKING’S!! The teddy bear ice creams are the best.
What makes you happy?
My mummy and daddy and getting to play with my friends in Clovelly
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a teacher but I also want to be an author because I always read Roald Dahl books!
