Each year the Queen’s Theatre choose a number of charities to support by hosting volunteers with collection buckets throughout the Panto season.
This year we are pleased to be able to support Tarka Radio and the Children’s Hospice South West.
Tarka Radio is run and operated entirely by volunteers and is completely self-financing. The station is managed and operated by a team of volunteers who work for the benefit of the patients 52 weeks a year producing and presenting programmes in addition to the running of the station, administration, fundraising etc.
Children’s Hospice South West has been operating for more than 30 years and has been caring for children with life-threatening conditions by providing children's hospice and professional family support services. The team are dedicated to making the most of short and precious lives through the provision of the best possible hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
Mark Farley, General Manager said “We are pleased to welcome the teams from both charities to the Queen’s Theatre so that they can raise money for their causes and continue to provide the invaluable services that they do within our local community”
Gurbinder Hayer of Children’s Hospice South West said “A huge thank you to the Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple for supporting Children’s Hospice South West again this year by allowing our staff, volunteers and our fantastic Young Ambassadors who’ll be out with our collection buckets at the end of performances of Jack and the Beanstalk. These collections are vital in continuing to support our children and families who rely on our hospice so much. If you and your family are off to see the show this year do look out for our volunteers, say hi and donate what you can so we can make the most of short and precious lives.”
At the end of each Panto performance volunteers from one of the above charities will be collecting any donations that you are able to give. We appreciate that times are difficult at the moment but anything that you are able to give would be hugely appreciated.
