The Way of the Wharves charity has received funding from the National Lottery’s Local Connections Fund Round 2 in support of its Bideford Community Big Draw event taking place this coming weekend, 30 October 2021.
The charity, whose aim is to advance the education and information about the maritime and industrial heritage of the Wharves at East the Water and the Torridge Estuary, is planning to take part in the World’s biggest community drawing event.
Open to families and artists of all ages and experience, the event will take place on the quay. Using the universal language of drawing, participants are invited to take inspiration from the river, foreshore and wharves.
Mike Teare, Chairman, ‘Way of the Wharves’ commented “We are immensely grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for supporting us in our bid to host a Big Draw event in Bideford. There is a rich history here in the Wharves and we hope people will draw inspiration from the past, as well as the future, when they join us to capture the unrivalled views from the quay.”
