There are an abundance of things to in in North Devon in September. Read on to discover where you need to be in the upcoming weeks for an amazing North Devon experience.
The Sea Ilfracombe Festival is taking place between the 1st and 2nd September and is a great event that keeps getting bigger and better! Enjoy local attractions, local food, live music and family entertainment all for free.
The Broomhill Sculpture Prize runs throughout September and gives you the opportunity to visit the gardens, witness the entries from emerging artists and have your say on who’s victorious.
The week commencing the 3rd September is a jam-packed one. The Tour of Britain is passing through Ilfracombe for Stage 2 and will feature Chris Froome & Geraint Thomas - a race not to be missed.
The 4th September sees the Acoustic Jam Session at Appledore Social Club from 7:30pm through to 11pm, an event that takes place every Tuesday from 7:30pm and always proves a popular spot.
Get your boogie on for the Country and Western Music Festival at Riverside Caravan Park, North Molton, running right until Sunday 10th.
Get your engines revving on the 8th September for Ilfracombe Bike Show. Staged along the front of the Landmark Theatre, come along and pick your favourite bike to win the public's choice trophy!
Head down to The Big Sheep from 10am on the 8th for the Baby and Children’s Market and shop from over 30 pre-loved and local business stalls.
A blast of colourful fun is set to hit the streets of Bideford on the 8th for the Bideford Carnival. Head down to the quay for an evening of music, entertainment and carnival floats galore.
The 14th September welcomes the start of the North Devon Art Trek. This Devon based event allows the public and upcoming artists to come together in the artist’s homes, studios, workshops and other venues to showcase some amazing local talent. View artwork, watch work in progress, discuss artist’s insights and listen to creative demonstrations.
Stowford Farm Meadows will be showcasing their newest caravan models on the 15th and 16th September. The day will also feature food, entertainment and a charity dog show.
Keep the tummies from rumbling and head down to Rosemoor over the weekend for the Taste of the Autumn Food Fair. With over 30 artisan food producers, you’ll get to sample, buy and take home your favourite products.
The Big Sheep are hosting the perfect event for the little ones. Head down on the 15th or 16th September and they will be greeted by a REAL unicorn! Grab your tickets now.
Want to get crafty? You’ll love the Craft and Artisan Fair at the Merry Harriers, the perfect spot to pick up a selection of high quality artwork crafts and locally created pieces.
On the 21st September, Appledore gears up for the biggest event in their annual calendar, the Appledore Book Festival. A charity funded event in its 13th year, discover authors, motivational speakers and culture all wrapped up in one.
One of the last carnivals of the year, Barnstaple Carnival is being held on 22nd September and this year is set to be one of the best yet. Visit a wide range of stallholders and watch as the town parades round the streets, not to mention the fireworks display from 8pm. A popular event amongst teenagers, Barnstaple Fair runs alongside the carnival and is the perfect way to end a fun filled day.

Planning to tie the knot? You need to head down to The Big Sheep on the 23rd September for The Big North Devon Wedding Show. Starting at 11am, meet the finest wedding exhibitors Devon and Cornwall have to offer.
The last week of September doesn’t disappoint. From the 28th September, enjoy a tipple or two at the Real Ale and Gin Festival at RHS Rosemoor. Featuring a range of interesting, unusual real ales all served direct from the barrel - plus a Gin Bar too!
If there’s food on the brain, the last day of September has treated you well - Lynton Food Festival kicks off! Starting at 10:30am try and buy lots of delicious food and drink.
