Heading out for a walk as a family is always a crowd pleaser and, on Mothering Sunday, Marwood Hill Gardens will be re-opening their gates for the year. Strolling through their 20 acre gardens is fun for all the family – the little one’s will love to see the giant fish in the 3 lakes, plus your pooch is welcome to come along too!
If you prefer beaches over gardens, North Devon has a huge range to choose from. Go for the golden sands of Woolacombe, Saunton or Croyde or the alternative choices like Lynmouth Beach or Watermouth Bay – the choice is yours!
Treating Mum to a special meal is one of the essential parts of a good Mother’s Day. If you really want to treat Mum, be sure to take her to the Michelin-starred Masons Arms in Knowstone to enjoy a taste of exceptional local cuisine. Or, if she’s more inclined to a light lunch, both Fremington Quay Cafe and Tea on The Green in Westward Ho! are great choices.
Dartington Crystal’s glassware is always a safe bet for a gift. Choose from their ranges of modern or traditional pieces in their Torrington shop. What’s even better? Over Mother’s Day weekend they’ll be holding a Blitz Sale where all glassware pieces are £3 or under!
If you’re after a more unique, trinket-like gift be sure to head to Appledore, South Molton or Ilfracombe. In all these areas there are a range of small stores all holding goodies to impress Mum!
