1st February 2023
We all know that February is the month of romance, so whether you have a special someone or you just want to spend some time enjoying the region’s beauty spots, take a look at some of the most romantic places in the region. With everything from rugged cliffs to the perfect spot to see the sunset, a visit to these locations are the perfect way to make Valentine’s Day special.
Located near Coombe Martin, this is a lovely spot for a romantic wood, you have the coast to one side and the dramatic cliffs and valleys on the other. Depending on how much of an adventure you want to have, you can follow the river valley down towards Heddon’s Mouth or even further along to Woody Bay.
This is one of the most beautiful spots on Exmoor. Located outside the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth this is the place to go for gorgeous views. It is also home to a herd of mountain goats which are entertaining to watch. There is a relatively easy circular walk which takes in the best sights for those that want to take it steady and stick to the paths.
As a hugely popular wedding venue, this one might be a bit presumptuous, but it is a lovely place to visit. The tunnels were hand carved in the 1820s and the beach itself is stunning.
If you want to chase the sunset, you can’t go far wrong visiting this beach near Woolacombe. During this time of year, before the summer season kicks in you can find yourself all alone on the beach – perfect for cuddling up together and enjoying the sunset.
