Update from Sally Everton - Director

Visit Devon’s Director Sally Everton has been busy continuing to drive promotion of Devon as a county and keeping the tourism industry up to date with everything that is happening nationally.
In November, Sally has been working on the following:
- Meeting with FamePro - re film tourism to Devon (external)
- WTM - visited as day visitor to maintain industry and tour operator contact (*went under Sally Everton Associates to maintain Devon in the market place)
- GSWTP meetings - back to fortnightly meetings (external)
- Exeter Visitor Recovery Group submit national industry update from DCMS/Government and SWTPG activity ( monthly) (external)
- Meeting with DATA re Camping and Caravan Show and whether we should partner this event (internal)
- GSWTP working group- fortnightly (external)
- Geri Panteva - EDDC on tourism strategy for East Devon (External)
- Attend Visit Britain webinar on US markets update (Can share link if anyone interested in full update )(Intenal /External)
- Attend further SWTPG meetings on VAT threshold and Unregulated Accommodation /Wild Camping (external/internal)
- Meeting at Hampton by Hilton - Jo Osman and Blue Islands to drive business into Exeter Airport and the South West (External)
- Attend the VERG event at Exeter Cathedral - Christmas launch with ECC
- Submit content for articles on Visit Devon summary 2021, way forward 2022, sustainabile tourism to Tourism Voice for publication
- Working with VE on the Visit Devon model - and it becoming less fragmented (external)
- Catch up with Vince Flower on Visit Devon and the way forward (internal)
- Liza Skripka - Tripset Travel Blogger Media Request for blog on weekend trips to Devon in low/shoulder season months (external)
- Attend working group SWTPG meeting - VAT threshold lobbying

- Request from BBC Economic team for pandemic success stories for hospitality and tourism but with challenges
- Co-ordinate Excursions - partners, stand working with TSE, submitting content, logos etc (Ongoing)
- In partnerhship with DCC and TSWRC - results of September impact survey/ share October one via social media, newsletters etc
- Intro Vivu Travel DMC to 4 hotels across Devon for series contracting for 2022 for Trailfinders ** WTM

- KIT meetings with Visit South Devon and Visit Dartmoor
- GWR - Ruth Powell re match funding and marketing campaign. Confirmed.
- UKInbound - initial review on our new membership and how we can utilise to our benefit going forward. 12 month activity strategy for Visit Devon
- Write 3 articles and submit for Tourism Voice B2B magazine to go to tourism and hospitality businesses across Devon and Cornwall- 2000 words and images.
- Follow up on Compass Holidays and itinerary suggestions for short breaks and holidays of 8-12 days. Walking/history/coastal villages
- Meeting with Claire Hutton - The List to see if mileage for Visit Devon. Passed onto Ignyte to take forward (External)
- Sharon Yandall of Group Leisure & Travel Show - Oct 22. Look at costs and working with DATA as a possibility? (External)
