WebTicketManager FAQ
Who are WebTicketManager?
WebTicketManager is a unique online ticketing service. The software enables ticket issuers to sell to ticket buyers both directly and through multiple sales channels. 100’s of attractions, events and venues across the UK are already part of our network as well as Destination Management Organisations, Hotels and more.
Can I use WebTicketManager as my primary online ticketing service?
Yes. WebTicketManager allows you to sell tickets online directly to your customers and sits neatly alongside your existing website and branding. If you don’t have any online presence, we can sort that for you too.
What is the BoxOfficeNetwork?
At WebTicketManager we actively help attractions, events and venues sell more tickets. The BoxOfficeNetwork is a portal where your tickets can be instantly available through a vast network of ticket promoters, re-sellers and box offices.
You can even set up your own BoxOfficeNetwork to cross-sell and cross-promote with other attractions, events and venues.
What is the ticketing widget?
The ticketing widget is a box that appears directly on an attraction, event or venue information page on a 3rd party website. This enables users to instantly start the booking process.
The widget can show general admission or offer a drop down for locations with several different events to choose from.
Our ticketing widget is going to be available on a huge number of DMO/Visit websites (and other 3rd party ticketing sites) allowing us to offer you a new, unique distribution channel.
Am I selling tickets to 3rd parties like DMO’s?
No. It’s important to note that at no time will you be selling tickets onto a 3rd party. The BoxOfficeNetwork is simply a portal or distribution channel through which users deal directly with you to buy tickets.
What’s it going to cost?
Whether you are looking for a primary ticketing service, your own box office or to join the BoxOfficeNetwork the following applies:
- There are no set-up fees
- There are no ongoing support fees
- You only pay when you actually sell a ticket
- The BoxOfficeNetwork is not a discount tool – we expect tickets to be sold at full face value
The “standard” cost for selling tickets on a primary site is 6.5% of the face value of a ticket plus 3.5% transaction processing fee.
The “standard” cost for selling your tickets via a 3rd party BoxOfficeNetwork is 20% of the face value of the ticket.
This is broken down as follows:
10% referral fee to the Box Office
6.5% WTM Service fee
3.5% transaction processing fee
Can I claim Gift Aid on eligible tickets?
Yes, you can set tickets to be eligible for Gift Aid and the user will be asked the required questions as part of the purchase process.
How will I get my money once I’ve sold a ticket?
Money from your ticket sales will be paid every seven days into your nominated bank account. If you are hosting a one-off event, we may hold onto all or a portion of the money from your ticket sales until the event date has passed. This allows us to reduce potential fraudulent events and enable efficient refunds if an event should be cancelled for any reason.
What will I have to do to get this set up?
The team at WebTicketManager will walk you through the simple set up process and you could be up, running and selling tickets in just a few hours.
Do I need to worry about payment providers, merchant accounts etc.?
We use PayPoint as our merchant account. If you don’t have a PayPoint account there’s no need to worry you can use our services. If you already have PayPoint account then we are happy for you to use it and this will reduce your financial services fees.
How can a validate tickets at the gate that I sell through the WebTicketManager software?
Validating tickets is simple using our free downloadable app for smartphones. As you’d expect the app does more than just validate tickets. You can search for bookings, tickets and perform a myriad of other functions. It also has offline capabilities for locations where there is no mobile signal.
How will over-selling or double booking be avoided?
As all ticket stock is processed in real-time from a single “pool” (source), you can never over-sell or double-book. This drastically reduces under-sell or wasted capacity, and the need for last minute distressed selling.
What will the booking page look like?
All our solutions have the flexibility to fit in with your current branding.
Is there a referral scheme for my visitor attractions, events and venues?
In addition to selling their own tickets, a recruitment of affiliates (other users of your BoxOfficeNetwork) intelligently occurs that actively promotes and up-sells available ticket stocks motivated by a commercial reward on sales.
With WebTicketManager you can identify and select your network partners you wish to promote, whilst remaining selective over which of your own tickets you wish to sell via your Network sales channel. It’s all real-time, so you can switch “on” and “off” or adjust network ticket stock at the click of a mouse.
By establishing such a network, you will naturally enhance and promote your local visitor destination – effectively creating a portal (one-stop-shop) to maximise ticket sales to visitors.
Customers buying, for example, a Beatles Story ticket in Liverpool are messaged at the end of their buying process: “Customers who purchased these tickets were also interested in the following tickets”. The links provided will be intelligent strategic live links to available stock (for example, the Magical Mystery Bus Tour) and any conclusive purchase would result in a 10% reward payable to The Beatles Story.
What management information & reporting will I receive?
Complete control is provided free of charge via access to our back-office system. The system allows you to create as many users as you need with the relevant variation of user access.
Not only can you manage what you sell and when, you also have the ability to use promo codes and vouchers. There are a vast range of reporting tools that can be extracted from the database:
- Sales detail reports
- Affiliate sales reports
- Marketing reports
- Graphical reporting
- Booking diary
- Source of booking reports and many more
What about social media?
Social Media sharing is made quick and simple as the admin system allows you to share updates, events and promotions straight into your social media.
The Booking system can also be embedded into your social media via links and book now apps allowing your customers to book directly from your social media pages.
What will users get when they book a ticket directly through a widget or the BoxOfficeNetwork?
Users of a BoxOfficeNetwork will be able to book your tickets there and then. Once they have completed the fast and simple booking process their tickets will be automatically emailed to them for printing at home or to simply show at the attraction, event or venue on their mobile device.
Can we create an API to link the WebTicketManager system to our existing solution?
An API is not part of our free solution but we are always happy to talk through the feasibility of creating an API.
