Unite against Dementia
20th May 2019
During this year’s Dementia Action Week, businesses across all sectors are encouraged to take action and unite against Dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society’s research has shown that people are worried about saying the wrong thing to those living with dementia and a general lack of understanding. This is despite the fact that there are two thirds of people in the UK living with some form of dementia, meaning we all know at least one person who has been affected by the condition.
This Dementia Action Week, the theme is to unite, so whether you are a business, a resident or a visitor, you are encouraged to take action and start a conversation with someone living with dementia, whether this is a relative or a neighbour or a guest staying at your establishment. If you’re not sure what to say or how to behave around people with dementia there is a handy online guide which can be found here.
