Tourism and the plastic free challenge
22nd January 2020
Plastic pollution is one of the biggest environmental challenges facing this generation and has in recent years received media attention. Since tourism is dependent on a quality environment, plastic pollution is of the upmost relevant to the industry and it is imperative that urgent action is taken to highlight the dangers that single-use plastics in particular pose to the environment in an attempt to encourage a wholesale change in behaviour.
'Tourism and the plastic free challenge' is the first Tourism Management Institute regional event to be held in Plymouth in conjunction with Destination Plymouth and Tourism and Hospitality (Plymouth Business School). Through a networking, key expert speaker and panel discussion format, the purpose of this event is to highlight and consider the various challenges that face the sector.
