Update from Sally Everton - Director

Visit Devon’s Director, Sally Everton, has been busy driving promotion internationally and encouraging visitors to come to Devon.
In November Sally has been working on the following:
DOMESTIC
I have been overseas at trade events for 2 weeks of this month - but still work remotely on local, national and international enquiries
- Day to day contact with our members and potential members
- Press enquiries - Agatha Christie for The Times Andrew Eames; New developments in Devon - The Telegraph Suzy Bennett,
- Blogger enquiry - Mummy's Meet - for child friendly venues in Exeter
- Share and get coverage for Conde Nast Awards for Excellence - numerous members were 2019 winners
- Collate visitor numbers to Devon - both domestic and international from the resource that I have
- Attend Destination Plymouth conference and Mayflower 400 launch
- Attend Devon Tourism Awards
- Attend Plymouth Illuminations with Leila Heller (MICE director from VisitBritain in North America)
INTERNATIONAL
- 2 days of sales calls - west coast of US.
- Input and collate database from VEMEX and sales mission
- Follow up warm leads -already have got coverage in TravelSquire and 2020 featured destination
- Follow up with our participating partners with feedback and enquiries
- Prepare presentation and partner participation for IBTM - business tourism
- Attend IBTM (3 days in Barcelona) along with English Riviera Conference Centre and Providence Hospitality.
- Live enquiries - 8 days for group of 35 (Incentive with leisure social programme)
- Follow up on other live enquiries. 31 appointments as VisitDevon (60% from UK meeting planners and the rest mostly US or German) and 288 to the Meet England stand (All GDPR compliant so building our data base)
- Host Leila Heller - Director of MICE for VisitBritain in North American for 5 days and 4 nights. Covered all key venues and incentive activities, plus attend events such as destination Plymouth conference and Mayflower 400 launch
- Working alongside Mayflower 400 working the US markets
- Destination Britain North America - virtual event in January 2020. Register interest
DEF PROJECT
- Continue to work with VisitCornwall and the tour operators /agents and DMC's to get our product onto their selling platforms for late 2019 and 2020
- Prepare for DEF 2 bid with Cornwall and possible other partners such as Mayflower and US Connections
- Follow up from US sales mission and VEMEX. Liaison with NY VisitBritain offices for pre or post ExploreGB educationals for buyers and media
