Rebecca Pow MP named as new addition to tourism department

Rebecca Pow MP is the new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Arts, Heritage and Tourism. The announcement was made on 23rd of May by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS.) She replaces Michael Ellis MP who held the role from 2018 until now. It is not her first foray into the DCMS, she has sat on a number of select committees focusing on Digital, Culture, Media and Sport since 2017.
Rebecca is the MP for Taunton Deane and is the first female Conservative MP to represent the seat. She has lived in Taunton Deane for the past 27 years coming from a long line of farmers and has previously trained to be a scientist and worked as a reporter for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 specialising in environment, farming and gardening. She also founded and ran her own local PR and Communications business, so is well versed in the ideas of media, business and how to help companies grow. Since becoming MP in Taunton Deane, she has worked on a number of projects to install broadband into rural areas and conservation.

We welcome Rebecca as the new Minister for Tourism and look forward to working with her on the importance of tourism to the UK economy and the tourism sector deal in the coming months.”
