Update from Sally Everton - General Manager

Visit Devon's general manager, Sally Everton, has been busy driving promotion and encouraging visitors into Devon. With July being such a hot month and so many people travelling to the coast, it was understandably a busy month for everyone. Sally spent her time working on activities focussing on various market sectors to increase our seasonality and visitor numbers.
During July, Sally has been working on the following:
- Hosting Telegraph Travel - Tour of Britain cycle preview, covering Exeter, Mid Devon and North Devon over three days.
- Dealing with press and blogger enquiries from Wanderlust Travel Adventurers, 'Secret Devon'
- The Express Newspapers' family foccused itineraries for last minute summer breaks (which included South Devon, N Devon and attractions).
- Working with Laura Campbell - Mayflower 400 Dartmouth. Itineraries for Dartmouth & South Devon
- Working with RHS Rosemoor on attracting group travel.
- The AMEX Destination Forum "Travel Insiders' programme for Devon 2019
- Holding various discusssions with Vicky Parr (VE) Jim Curry and Diane Lloyd re Be My Guest coming to Torquay in October.
- Attending the Business Tourism meeting which included presentations from the MIA and The Meetings Show. There was a spotlight on Devon as a Biz Tourism destination.
- Attending a networking event at Pentillie Castle - where VisitDevon was presented to 100 businesses from the Devon and Cornwall Chamber
- Attending a round table meeting at Penzance with the Minister for Tourism, Michael Ellis which gave us a chance to put across the challenges facing us in the SW
- Launching the VisitNorth Devon microsite, which went live on 31st July.
