Update from Sally Everton, Visit Devon Director

Visit Devon’s Director Sally Everton has been busy continuing to drive promotion of Devon as a county and keeping tourism industry up to date with everything that is happening nationally.
In recent months, Sally has been working on the following:
- Heading up the Enjoy Summer Safely campaign, liasing with other partners and coordinating content for social media and other platforms
- Continuing work with the SWTA on behalf of Visit Devon, continuing discussions with DCMS and Visit England
- Attending meetings hosted by Visit England and Visit Britain
- Appearing on various news outlets about the summer, winter survival and the importance of local tourism
- Coordinating Devon Intentions Survey alongside Devon County Council, TSWRC and Ignyte Ltd
- Collating and submitting documents for the DMO Resilience Fund
- Attending the Visit Britain Escape Everyday webinar to discuss inclusion in the Autumn campaign with suggestions for film and other campaigns to run into November.
- Submitting Devon related content for that campaign focusing on countryside, coast, food and drink and experiences
- Coordinating a paper for a backbench debate with MP Selaine Saxby, working with Devon and SWTA partners.
- Working for the Be the Business programme for Visit Devon members
- Attending marketing meetings
- Attending bi-weekly meetings with the Exeter Recovery Task Force
- Meeting with Ordinance Survey about ongoing itineraries around Secret Stories of Devon
- Finalising Daily Telegraph feature, Devon Roadtrips for Autumn
- Finalising feature with Andrew Eames for iPaper and the Guardian surrounding promotion for new film adaptation of Death on the Nile.
- Meeting with head of culture for Exeter City Council to assist with lobbying for government help for theatres and cinemas
- Reapplying for funding from the LEP so Visit Devon can partner with the DEF Connections project which has secured £5k worth of funding
- Attending the launch and preview of the Box in Plymouth
- Completing application for the DMO Emergency Funds announced by Visit England and HMRC
- Evaluating the ESS Campaign
- Creating an itinerary for the National Geographic
- Working on itineraries for Devon with Adams and Butler for summer/autumn 2021
- Meeting with the CEO of Visit Britain and Visit England about post pandemic recovery
- Working with Ignyte Ltd to share updates as announced by the government with Visit Devon members
- Meeting with GWR via Zoom
- Meeting with Connections partners to discuss marketing campaign for the next six months
- Resubmitting applications for the DMO Emergency Funding
- Meeting with Bill Martin to discuss positive reporting
