Update from Sally Everton - Director

Visit Devon’s Director, Sally Everton, has been busy driving promotion internationally and encouraging visitors to come to Devon.
In April Sally has been working on the following:
Domestic:
- Meeting with various members and potential members about the VisitDevon benefits (6 potential new members)
- Marketing meeting with marketing group - further developing the VisitDevon strategy
- Research domestic consumer events such as Coutryfile Live, Camping and Caravan Show, Car Fest South - tofurther raise awareness to domestic markets
- Meeting with DATA on further joint intiatives
- Meeting with VisitCornwall on working together on joint domestic consumer events
- Follow up with various media on Easter weekend and successes.
International:
- Hosted 8 international MICE (meeings and incentive) buyers for 3 Days to Devon for business tourism - US, Dutch, German and Spanish (South Devon for this one and special thanks to all the participating partners who made it such a success)
- Meeting with GWR - easy links.
- Hosted dinners with board guests from the ATP's at The Imperial in Torquay, Dartington Hall as well as lunches at RICC and Buckfast Abbey
- Attend MeetGB - 3 day event in Windsor including 60 appointments with MICE (and some leisure) to raise awareness on meeting and incentive venues and itineraries throughout Devon
- Enquiries for an environmental event from US, 2 x incentive groups - both US and one medical (Exeter)
- Meeting with Emma Tatlow on collaborative working on intenational events - including Connections, Mayflower 400 and VisitDevon
DEF Project:
- Nearing completion for this round of the project working closely with our project co-ordinator and our research and insight consultant based in the US
- Continue to develop partnerships with tour operators/DMC's and with local partners and tour guides
- Return from the US -from a week long follow-up sales mission to agents and tour operators that we carried out the product testing
- Talking to 3 DMC's who will work with the tour operators and feature the themed itineraries
- Meeting with Emma Tatlow on collaborative working on intenational events for Devon - Mayflower 400 and VisitDevon
- Completion of the travel trade directory
- Near completion of the website - soon to be live.
