The next SWTA conference will be at The Tiverton Hotel, Tiverton, EX16 4DB, on Tuesday 13 November from 0900-1600. We have got a great line up of speakers, including Kate Nicholls, CEO of UK Hospitality, Patricia Yates from Visit England, Stephen Darke Head of Tourism at DCMS, Diedre Wells Chair of the Tourism Alliance, Carolyn Custerson, CEO of the English Riviera, Sally Everton GM Visit Devon, David Ralph, the new CEO of the Heart of the SW LEP, Robin Barker CEO Services for Tourism and Kurt Janson, Director of the Tourism Alliance. There will also be additional experts taking part in the Panel sessions.
We will be covering the very real spectre of additional Tourism Taxes, we will see how successful the South West has been in getting support from the Discover England Fund and what that means to you, discussing the impact of the Sharing Economy (AirBnB etc) and whether formal registration of accommodation businesses could be the answer. We will also cover Business Rates, the Regional Awards, changes to tourism legislation, plus much, much more.
