Update from Sally Everton - Director

Visit Devon’s Director, Sally Everton, has been busy driving promotion internationally and encouraging visitors to come to Devon.
In February Sally has been working on the following:
Domestic:
- Launch of domestic digital marketing campaign targeting families with younger and older children - 3 month run
- Westcountry Tourism Conference - presentation and meet members and potential new members
- Attend SW Tourism Awards dinner- Bristol Aerospace (Excellent event)
- Enquiry 150 pax for 2 nights - Sept 2019 (Biz tourism). Distribute to relevant members for quotes
- Enquiry - 10 dates from OAD (from Vakantiebeurs) Shared with relevant members for quotations
- Numerous meetings with various members - re collaborative working and getting the most out of memberships
- Prep for ITB and sourcing more partners
- Brochure distribution for ITB from various particpating partners for ITB
- Meeting with DATA for 2019/2020 collaborative working
- Presented at the Springboard tourism event
- Meetings with various ATP's over the month - KIT's and working together
International:
- Various updates for VisitEngland and VisitBritain
- Finalise MeetGB Educational for April 8th - 10th 2019 10 buyers from the US and 2 from Europe. Association and Incentive covering English Riviera, South Devon and Dartmoor.
- Sourcing partners and write 3 day itinerary for Pre ExploreGB educational for Canada and North America
- Working with VisitBritain - Japan, China and UAE
- Talking with various international journalists - German, Dutch and French.
- Prepare ITB profile and source pre-scheduled appointments
- Continue to follow up on Dutch agents and press - Vakantiebuers
DEF Project:
- Progression of the project working closely with our project co-ordinator and our research and insight consultant based in the US
- Develop partnerships with tour operators/DMC's and with local partners and tour guides
- Continue to develop thematic itineraries to fit our 5 themes - ongoing
- Prepare content for trade interviews to take to chosen tour operators/DMC's
- Various meetings throughout the month with VisitCornwall, and project co-ordinator
- Various conference calls with the US over the month with Simon Bradley,US based project consultant
- Conference calls with Kirk MacDonald re Australia travel trade and tour operators. Link with 4 tour operators for bookable itineraries
- Planning and put together sales mission for late March with tour operators that we interviewed when product testing

- US Sales Mission to East Coast - March 2019
- MEETGB - April 2019 Windsor. To be partner funded LAST CALL TO BE INCLUDED - Biz Tourism
- Pre MEETGB Educational for 10 US and European hosted buyers - researched BY VB for viability
- Pre and Post ExploreGB educationals with a mix of buyers and press. PRE is US and Canada; and post is Japanase/Chinese. Please advise if you would like to participate with offering assistance

- The Meetings Show - 26th - 18 June 2019 To be partner funded on MIA stand.
