Make a Cob Bug Hotel!
About
Let the kids get creative and messy and discover the joy of building with cob!
In this fun and hands-on workshop your child will build a cob bug hotel to take home for your garden for solitary bees and other insects to move into. There are over 220 species of wild solitary bees in the UK, who are important pollinators that need our help! By building your very own eco bug hotel you can help these solitary bees to find a good home. Cob is a mixture of sandy-sub soil, clay and straw that is a brilliant natural material for making bug hotels! It can be a wee bit messy … but it's all part of the fun!
Take your bug hotel home with you, put in a sunny spot in the garden, sit back and wait for the bugs to move in!
Children must be accompanied by an adult but unfortunately adults cannot make a cob bug hotel for themselves too – this activity is just for the kids!
