Explore Devon and Cornwall by train and enjoy stunning coastal views, rolling green countryside, wooded valleys and river crossings.
Exeter is a fantastic hub to begin your rail adventure - north, south, east or west.
Take the Dartmoor Line west to Okehampton in just 40 minutes and explore North Dartmoor and the Granite Way right from the station. Get free directions and maps for Dartmoor walks starting from Okehampton station
Or head north on the Tarka Line to Barnstaple. Explore the Pannier Market, walk the Tarka Trail or take an onward bus outside the railway station to Ilfracombe or Lynton & Lynmouth.
The East Devon Line connects Exeter with Honiton and Axminster, with great walks from both stations as well as bus connections to the Jurassic Coast.
Heading south, the Avocet Line runs alongside the scenic Exe Estuary to Exmouth, and the Riviera Line hugs the famous red cliffs at Dawlish and Teignmouth along the coast towards Torquay and Paignton - the ‘English Riviera’. Stay on the main line at Newton Abbot to visit Plymouth and the Tamar Valley Line or to continue into Cornwall.
