You are here > Things to do > Combe Martin Beach
Nestled on the edge of Exmoor, Combe Martin offers beautiful rolling scenery from the highest point on the Coast Path to the lapping water’s edge of the Bristol Channel.
Popular with walkers, it is one of the key points on the South West Coast Path section offering a well-earned rest after a good walk. All the guest houses offer comfy accommodation and a home cooked breakfast. Boasting five pubs dotted along its long high street, you will have no problem finding somewhere to sample locally sourced ales and good food served with a warm welcome.
Its sheltered bay has two beaches, one of which is dog friendly all year. Its rock pools are a hive of activity with many species of sea life, perfect for crabbing. Combe Martin has a very active kayaking culture, with two shops offering excellent hire facilities, tours and training. It’s a perfect way to see the beautiful coastline from another viewpoint as well as being good fun.
The Wildlife and Dinosaur Park sit’s proudly overlooking the village and with gift shops and cafes huddled around the seafront, Combe Martin is the little village with a lot to offer.
From the M5, go to Junction 27 and then follow the A361 until you reach the roundabout with South Molton to the left and Combe Martin signed to the right on the A399. Follow this for 16 miles to reach Combe Martin.
