About
The Clovelly estate is one of Devon’s major tourist attractions, presenting a unique experience of a bygone age, where people lived a more tranquil way of life. The world-famous fishing village offers staggering views across Bideford Bay, with picturesque historic houses winding their way down the wooded hillside, to the working harbour on the coast. Discover Clovelly’s unique history with a guided tour, enjoy the packed programme of maritime events, or wander through the tranquil Clovelly Court Gardens. Don’t forget to stop off at the creative studios on your way.
There is an entrance fee payable to the village that covers parking and admission to the village, information film showing, two museums in the village and nearby Clovelly Court Gardens; it also contributes to the ongoing maintenance programme at Clovelly which ensures the village retains its original charm and magic. No vehicles are allowed down the steep cobbled street in the village, so cars must be left at the top of the hill by the Visitor Centre – however, a Land Rover shuttle service is available for the less able which can be booked from the information desk.
