ABOUT
Our original location since 1926, Instow Deli & Café encapsulates everything we’re about. From our carefully curated local produce to the warm, welcoming atmosphere – we’d love you to come and experience all that we have to offer. Instow is a pretty, unspoilt seaside village with large stretches of sandy beaches and dunes perfect for families including dogs.
DELICATESSEN
We're hugely passionate about food and believe that shows in our lovingly created ranges in our Deli. Featuring Johns homemade, local and artisan producers you will be spoilt for choice across every mealtime. Check out our extensive range of cheeses, beers, wine & spirits to name a few! Look out for our weekly sampling sessions where you can try a selection of products including our own branded jams, chutneys, and gin as well as our supplier highlights.
CAFÉ
Enjoy and celebrate the latest in exceptional homemade & local produce in our bright & airy café. Enjoy our breakfast menu daily until 1pm or our full menu which showcases our Deli.
Join us on our journey of ‘Eat the Seasons’ where we showcase the very best of local produce that’s perfectly in season.
Don't forget we are dog friendly too in our café serving our four-legged friends doggy scoops ice cream and locally made dog treats from Bideford.
FOOD TO GO
You’ll find a large range of Hot & Cold food ready to go plus a takeaway menu featuring breakfast, filled baguettes, toasties, soups and drinks to enjoy al fresco whilst taking in the spectacular views across the water.
Grab a coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or smoothie for the beach.
SHOPPING EMPORIUM
Our Instow Emporium provides a wonderful range of local fresh food and grocery essentials, perfect for great meals in your home or holiday rental, plus check out our extensive range of Italian, Spanish, Greek & French products for some culinary inspiration.
Visit our website or ask in store to see our bespoke ranges of hampers and gifts that can be collected in store or delivered locally. From our ever-popular Large West Country Hamper stocked full of fizz, sweet & savoury goodies to our Tasty Treats Gift bag we can offer something whatever the occasion.
JOHNS ON THE BEACH & THE FERRY (April-October)
A North Devon institution since the mid 1940’s, The Johns’ Beach Hut has been a favourite ever since. Proud to serve you a wide selection of Farmer Toms flavoured Ice Creams, Hot & Cold drinks plus a selection of beach goods for a fun trip on the golden sands.
For a fun and unique experience why not hop on and off the Instow-Appledore Ferry and visit both villages to while away the hours. Check out the timetable on https://www.appledoreinstowferry.com/
From Bideford direction;
Head NE on A39
At Heywood roundabout take the 2nd exit and stay on the A39.
Turn left onto B3233 (signs for East-the-Water/Instow/Yelland).
At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay on B3233.
After 1.9 miles turn left into Marine Parade.
From Barnstaple Direction;
Head SW take the A361 to A39.
Follow the A39 for 6.6 miles then turn right onto the B3233 (signs for East-the-Water/Instow/Yelland).
At the roundabout take the 2nd exit towards Instow.
In 1.9 miles take a left onto Marine Parade.
