Peace and Quiet in Rural North Devon
Raleigh Lodge is a peaceful 1 bedroom holiday cottage nestled in the beautiful rural countryside of North Devon.
Built in 2022, the lodge sits in its own meadow surrounded by mature trees. It is in the grounds of a Listed farmhouse, all of which dates back to the 16th Century and is set in five acres of land with beautiful views over Ruby Country. Being in the heart of rural North Devon, the wider area consists of peaceful farmland and hedgerows full of flowers. Those who love the great outdoors will love this area - ideal for water sports, walking, cycling, and more.
The bedroom has a king-size bed with beautiful views over the meadow. The ensuite bathroom has a walk-in shower. Good quality towels are included along with Clovelly soap.
The kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, electric hob, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. An electric kettle and toaster are also included. The dining area seats two and there are is plenty of tableware, glasses and cutlery (so you don’t have to be continually washing up on your holiday!).
The living room has a sofa and an armchair for you to sit in front of the cosy wood burning stove on chillier evenings or just stare out of the window! A basket of logs, kindling and firelighters is included and more can be purchased. The smart TV includes Freeview. If you fancy staying in, there is a selection of books, puzzles and games to keep you amused. In addition, the WiFi is free with a good signal throughout the lodge. You will have everything you need for a relaxing stay.
To the front of the lodge there is a full-length veranda with 2 chairs and a table.
There is electric heating throughout.
Parking is available for one car and is only a few metres from the entrance to the barn.
A highchair and travel cot is available free of charge on request, however, the lodge is not suitable for mobile infants as there is a significant drop from the veranda at one end.
The hamlet of East Putford feels totally off the beaten track but yet it is so accessible. We are 15 minutes from the historic port town of Bideford and 25 minutes from the seaside resort of Bude.
The area is wonderful for walking whatever your level of fitness. North Devon is famous for its long and varied coastline with its wonderful walks and long unspoilt sandy beaches. You can enjoy fine countryside and fabulous views right from our doorstep or, a little further away, follow the coastal path or just stroll along the variety of nearby beaches. There are also many historic houses and gardens nearby including RHS Rosemoor. For the kids there is The Big Sheep, the Milky Way Adventure Park, wildlife parks and farms. Or try something different, such as sea fishing for mackerel, surfing or horse riding.
Raleigh Lodge is perfect for couples and those who wish for a peaceful, relaxing hideaway. This is a superb location in any season.
