Nestled in the beautiful North Devon countryside, the Corffe Estate provides an ideal base for family holidays, short breaks and work stopovers. Located on the outskirts of the picture postcard village of Tawstock, the Corffe Estate is handily located. It is only a short drive from the bustling market town of Barnstaple and within easy reach of the stunning North Devon coastline with its amazing beaches and endless attractions, providing you with the peace of the countryside without missing out on a wide variety of amenities.
The Corffe Estate comprises of a large Grade II listed manor house that sleeps up to 22 and nine refurbished, self-catering cottages that sleep from 2-10. The accommodation is available all year round for week stays and short breaks. Visitors of both the house and the cottages have access to the indoor heated pool, tennis court, play area and onsite parking.
Corffe House
When you stay at Corffe you could be forgiven for thinking you are staring in your own period drama with its many generous sized rooms and sweeping staircase. It is this combined with the modern-day touches such as the cinema room not to mention uninterrupted views over the beautiful Devon countryside that make for an unforgettable stay.
Impressive yet welcoming, this 18th century Georgian country house was once the rectory to the thirteenth century Church of St Peter from 1801 to 1948. Today it is a fabulous holiday house, ideal for family gatherings and group celebrations in an idyllic location with first class facilities.
With ample reception rooms, nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms, the house itself offers both space and character with many charming period features including large sash windows, original shutters, marble fireplaces and ornate coving. Whether you choose to make Corffe your home for a week or just a short break you are sure of a warm welcome.
Corffe Cottages
Corffe Cottages were once the stables and outbuildings of Corffe House and have been completely refurbished into nine, well-equipped self-catering cottages centred around a sunny and social courtyard. Whether you a couple or a group of 10 there will be a cottage for you.
Each cottage is well equipped for a self-catering family holiday. Children are well looked after with stairgates in every property and plastic plates and cutlery, cots and highchairs available for use. The cottages also feature toys, games, DVDs and books to keep you entertained if the weather turns against you, or for cosy evenings in. Guests are welcome to use the complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and HDTVs with separate Blu-Ray players so whatever the weather or reason for staying, you’ll be made to feel at home.
There is a laundry room onsite with washing machines and tumble dryers, as well as an information room full of maps and guides to make sure that you make the most of your stay. Plus, the managers Hazel and Jon Malin live onsite in Little Corffe with their two young children, they’re both happy to deal with any enquiries you may have and are on hand to greet you once you’ve arrived.
With five acres of private land, Corffe has something for everyone. After a busy day taking in all that North Devon has to offer, head back to the comfort of the estate and relax in the shared indoor heated pool, toddler pool and spa bath or have a game of tennis on the all-weather tennis court. Guests are welcome to enjoy a barbecue in the central courtyard and the kids are welcome to enjoy the adventure play area or return to nature exploring the woodland and lawns.
We allow a maximum of two, well behaved, dogs in Corffe House and one dog in Corner Cottage, dogs are charged for separately. If you wish to bring a dog please let us know at the time of booking. Doggy terms apply.
