Nestled in the breathtaking North Devon countryside, the Corffe Estate is the ideal destination for family holidays, short breaks, and work retreats. Located on the edge of the picturesque village of Tawstock, it combines the serenity of rural life with easy access to local amenities. A short drive brings you to the bustling town of Barnstaple and the stunning North Devon coastline, renowned for its sandy beaches, coastal walks, and family-friendly attractions.
Whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, or a mix of both, Corffe Estate offers the perfect blend of historic charm, modern comfort, and natural beauty.
Corffe House, a Grade II listed Georgian manor, sleeps up to 22 guests and is perfect for large family holidays, group retreats, or special celebrations. Its period features, including marble fireplaces, sash windows, ornate coving, and a sweeping staircase, combine seamlessly with modern comforts like a cinema room and high-speed Wi-Fi.
Originally the rectory for the 13th-century Church of St Peter, Corffe House dates back to the 18th century. With nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and expansive reception rooms, it offers luxury accommodation in North Devon while preserving its historic character.
The estate features nine refurbished self-catering cottages, accommodating 2–10 guests, perfect for family getaways, romantic breaks, or group holidays. Once stables and outbuildings, these cottages are now modern, fully equipped, and centered around a sunny courtyard.
Cottages are family-friendly, with stairgates, cots, highchairs, and plastic plates, plus toys, games, DVDs, and books for entertainment. Guests also enjoy HDTVs, Blu-Ray players, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi.
Additional amenities include an onsite laundry room, an information hub with local maps and guides, and the support of onsite managers Hazel and Jon Malin.
Spread across five acres, Corffe Estate provides fun and relaxation for every guest:
Indoor heated pool with toddler pool and spa bath
All-weather tennis court
Adventure playground for children
Barbecue area in central courtyard
Woodland and lawns for nature walks
Whether exploring the North Devon coastline or relaxing onsite, guests enjoy a luxurious countryside retreat.
Corffe Estate welcomes well-behaved dogs, making it ideal for pet-friendly holidays in North Devon. Corffe House allows up to two dogs, and Corner Cottage allows one. Charges and terms apply; please inform us at the time of booking.
